Laser Hair Removal
According to selective light absorption theory, laser can be preferentially absorbed by the melanin of the hair follicle achieving the purpose of permanent hair removal. Permanent hair reduction is the long-term, stable reduction in the number of hairs regrowing after a treatment regime. The generative hair must keep stable in a certain period of time and the length of the time range must be longer than a whole growth cycle of hair follicle. One life cycle is from 4 to 12 months due to different body parts. Permanent hair removal doesn’t equal that all the hair of the treatment area is completely dislodged.

Clinical result shows that to make sure the time period during which thetreatment area has got a long term, stable and permanent hair loss, itdepends upon the different body parts. If the time of hair loss in the treatmentarea is longer than the hair life cycle of the corresponding section, we can saythat the hair loss of this body part is long term, stable and permanent.
Post Treatment Instructions
Immediately after the treatments, there should be redness and bumps in the treatment area which may last a few hours and for some individuals (especially with light skin) longer. It is normal for the treated area to feel like a sunburn for a few hours with the possibility of the sunburn like sensation continuing into the next day. You should use a cold compress if needed. Aloe vera gel or antibiotic cream may be suggested as a post treatment product. Please consult with your technician prior to using any products in the treatment area up to 72 hours post procedure.
Hair re-growth occurs at different rates on different areas of the body. New hair growth will not occur for at least three weeks after the treatment. From 5-21 days after the treatment shedding of the burnt hair particle will occur. This is normal and hair quickly falls out. Initially it will appear as if the hair is continuing to grow, but this is the burnt hair pushing its way out of the follicle. You may help the hair exfoliate by washing and wiping gently with a washcloth. Showering/bathing is appropriate after laser sessions. However, be careful to use only tepid water and a mild soap. Skin should be patted dry and not rubbed. If having laser sessions on the underarms please wait a period of 24 hours before applying deodorant. Avoid hot tubs, pools, and public gyms 24 hours post treatment to limit exposure to harmful bacteria.
Avoid irritation in the treatment area, which includes picking or scratching. You CANNOT tweeze or wax the area you are having treated during the course of your laser sessions. Pure Mineral Makeup is the only makeup that is recommended immediately post treatment.Only use fresh new makeup in the treated area. Moisturizer is recommended to be used liberally in the treatment area in order for the dead hair to be able to exfoliate from the follicle more easily.
The laser travels through the skin to the hair follicle, attracted to the hair follicle by the pigment in the hair. This damages & weakens the hair follicle.
Our lasers use cryogen (freezing air) to cool the skin each time the laser pulses. This unique cooling allows us to use high laser energy without damaging the skin. Laser Hair Removal has been described as feeling similar to having a small rubber band flicked against your skin. Local anaesthetic cream is used by a number of clients to help dull the feeling of the laser on the skin. We recommend a consultation and a test patch before you decide whether you want to use local anaesthetic cream, as the majority of clients do not require it.
Most areas can be treated with Laser Hair Removal in 5 to 60 minutes.

- To fully explain the process.
- To identify the area to be treated & advise you how to prepare the area before treatment.
- To perform a test patch to identify the appropriate treatment energy level for you.
This depends on the area being treated and can be influenced by sex, age and hormones. Studies show an average hair loss of approximately 80% after 6 – 8 treatments. Treatments are conducted 6 to 8 weeks apart.
For most clients, hair that does not grow back after several treatments, will not regrow. Some clients do not experience the usual pattern of hair reduction with laser. This can be due to an underlying hormonal imbalance.
